Carolyn Mills – Genie Product Manager
We’re pleased to announce that Carolyn Mills has stepped into the role of Genie Product Manager. Many of our customers have met and worked with Carolyn during her 14 years here at Genie Solutions, as she’s worked across different areas of the business.
Carolyn started as the company’s only support person back in 2005; she took on the task of growing the Support Team, performing demonstrations, running installations and presenting the Genie training courses. She then moved into our development team in 2015 as a Business Analyst on our Gentu software.
Through her roles at Genie Solutions, Carolyn has enjoyed developing relationships with our customers and industry partners. Carolyn says, “the experience and connections I have gained in the industry and business as a whole, combined with the direct customer experience has given me the skillset to move into the product management space with confidence.”
When Carolyn joined the company, less than 300 practices were using Genie as their practice management software. Today we have over 4,000 practices using Genie and Gentu in their practice, and a fantastic community surrounding the products and supporting each other.

“What I love is how the Genie product and name has permeated through the industry over the years, virtually through word of mouth. This shows that we have been delivering a product that people feel is worth telling their friends about!” says Carolyn.
With a mother who is a GP and a father who has retired from the IT space, Carolyn feels that she’s in her element at Genie, which is a perfect blend of both professions.

I love that Genie Solutions is always willing to challenge this to help our practitioners succeed and focus more on their patients (and families!) than the technology ‘pain points’ surrounding them.”
Carolyn's first focus as Genie Product Manager is on improving our customer feedback loop.
Although she only has been in the role for a few weeks, Carolyn already has a long list of ideas for the Genie product. Her first focus as Genie Product Manager is on improving our customer feedback loop. Customer feedback is something she is passionate about, and it plays a vital role in delivering a product that fits its market. She’s working closely with our Customer Experience teams to finalise an improved way of handling feedback. This will ensure customers feel they are being heard and can see how they have contributed to improving their Genie software.
What excites Carolyn the most about stepping into her new role is getting back to work on the Genie product:
“After working with the Genie product for close to 10 years, it will be nice to get back to what I am comfortable with, which also allows me to hit the ground running. Working on our cloud product, Gentu, gave me great experience and insight into how we might better leverage the desktop in the cloud space and the advantages that can bring!”
